Current visa restrictions under COVID-19
In light of the world shutting itself down again, let's visit the current restrictions in place regarding travel to Estonia. Normal entry rules have not applied for a long time and so-called non-essential travel will be restricted for an unseen period of time.
Entry restrictions are imposed by a Government order which can be found (in English) here:
If you are outside of the so-called safe list of third countries, you can enter for the purpose of work or study (there are other grounds as well but they are more specific in nature). So for example entering on a digital nomad visa or a start-up visa would seem to be restricted at this point. Also any kind of business travel.
There is a way to apply for an exception from the Police and Border Guard from these rules, for example on the grounds of visiting family members. The exceptions has to be applied for and well grounded.
