How to make sure your TRP as a startup founder gets extended

Currently most startup founders will receive a residence permit for 1 year in Estonia. How to make sure the extension after 1 year goes well and you will receive a permit for longer?

1. Make sure you have evidence of developing your startup. Making sales is great but not a strict requirement. Still some clear evidence is essential to be presented to the Police - for example agreements with partners, attending events, minutes of board/shareholder meetings;

2. Move to Estonia! If you do not physically make the move then the extension is very unlikely;

3. Register your residence at the local municipality;

4. Make sure you are covered by health insurance;

5. Avoid politically sensitive social media posting.
